LEADERSHIP
Leadership is a process influenced by
a leader or an example to his followers in an
effort to achieve organizational goals. Natural way to
learn leadership is to "do it inwork"
with practices like apprenticeship in a senima experts, craftsmen, orpractitioner.

George R Terry (2006: 124),
argued 8 (eight) characteristic of
the leadership of the leader is:
(1) Energetic, has the mental and
physical strength
(2) Stability of emotion, may not have
the ugly prejudices of his
subordinates, notquick-tempered and should have considerable confidence;
(3) Have knowledge of
the relationship between human beings;
(4) personal motivation, must have a
desire to become a leader and can motivate yourself;
(5) Ability to communicate, or proficiency
in communication and or negotiation;
(6) Ability or proficiency
in teaching, explaining, and developingsubordinates;
(7) social skills or a sense of
social skills, in order to ensure trust and loyalty
of his
subordinates, helpful, happy if subordinates advanced,
gentle, and flexible in the mix;
(8) The ability of the technique, or skill to analyze,
plan, organize authority,take decisions and able to
put together the concept.
Then, a successful leadership in the age of
globalization according to Dave Ulrichis: "It is
a multiplication between credibility and
capability." Credibility is the features
that exist in a leader
like competence-competence, sifatsifat, values and habits that
can be trusted either by subordinates as well as
by its environment.
Then, in Islam a good
leader is a leader who has at least 4 (four) nature
of leadershipin the
running, namely: Siddiq, Tabligh, Amanah and Fathanah (STAFF):
(1) Siddiq (truthful) so he can be
trusted;
(2) Tabligh (transmitter) or
the ability to communicate and negotiate;
(3) Amanah (responsible) in carrying out their duties;
(4) Fathanah (smart) in
planning, vision, mission, strategy and implement it.
